Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed that the 2014 Chibok girls kidnapping will remain a permanent scar on his legacy.
Speaking at a recent event, Jonathan shared his deep regret over the incident, where 276 schoolgirls were abducted by Boko Haram from Chibok, Borno State.

Jonathan highlighted the challenges his administration faced in addressing the crisis, including initial doubts about the authenticity of the abduction.
He noted that despite efforts to secure the release of the girls, the ordeal remains a defining and sorrowful chapter of his presidency.
Over 100 of the girls are still unaccounted for, a fact that Jonathan says will always trouble him.
The former president also called for continued efforts to secure the release of the remaining captives and urged national unity in tackling insecurity.
