Former Super Eagles player Emmanuel Emenike has taken a subtle dig at the Lagos State Government, led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
This followed a renewed demolition exercise carried out by the government, targeted at illegal structures and buildings blocking drainage pathways.
While the government has stated numerous times that the exercise is within the confines of the law, Emenke believes that it is targeted at an ethnic group.

He shared on social media, “His biggest achievement since he became the governor is to destroy homes of a particular tribe, you will pay for that believe me, the problem I have with my people NDI IG. O is that they don’t have ear so they should enjoy the demolition. You can do your business in ABUJA, ANAMBRA, IMO, ABIA. ENUGU, EBONYI, EVEN DELTA STATE.”
Reacting to Emenike’s statement, an X user identified as @GoziconC on X (formerly Twitter) lambasted the former Super Eagles striker for what he described as hypocrisy and selective outrage.
He wrote: “Former Footballer, Emmanuel Emenike is threatening Gov. Sanwo-Olu over the demolition of illegal structures in Lagos. This clown has never threatened IPOB over killing of innocent civilians in Southeast.
“Emenike has never threatened Soludo, Otti, and Peter Mbah over the demolition of illegal structures in Southeast. And to worsen it all, he lives in Lagos instead of Southeast.”
