BREAKING: Flick Praises Pedri and De Jong After Barcelona’s Champions League Win Over Newcastle

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has showered praise on Pedri and Frenkie de Jong following the club’s 2-1 UEFA Champions League victory against Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Thursday night.

A brace from Marcus Rashford secured the win for the Spanish champions, despite a late strike from Anthony Gordon for the hosts.

Speaking after the game, Flick highlighted the importance of Pedri and De Jong in controlling Barcelona’s play under pressure.

“With Pedri and Frenkie, it is not easy to put pressure on us,” Flick said.
“I think they both played a very good game today. I am happy that they are playing with that confidence on this pitch. We are a very young team, and what I can see is that the team is playing with confidence, and that is very important.”

Barcelona return to LaLiga action this weekend against Getafe.
