Adeleke Clarifies: PDP Crisis Rooted in Family Ties

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has downplayed reports of internal crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), insisting that any disagreements in the party are being resolved amicably as a “family affair.”

Adeleke made the remark on Monday in Abuja while speaking to journalists after presiding over the inaugural meeting of the Accommodation Sub-Committee of the PDP National Convention Committee.

The governor, who serves as Deputy Chairman of the National Convention Committee and Chairman of the Sub-Committee, said the party remains united and fully prepared for its upcoming national convention.

“We have just concluded the inaugural meeting of the Accommodation Sub-Committee. Everyone was present, and we have resolved all outstanding issues to ensure the convention proceeds smoothly,” Adeleke said.

He expressed confidence that the event, scheduled for November 15 and 16, would be successful, adding that the PDP continues to uphold its tradition of internal organisation and respect for due process.

The Osun governor also dismissed reports of divisions within the party, stressing that internal disagreements are normal but being handled constructively.

“I can assure you that we are meeting and resolving our issues internally. It’s a family affair. We don’t want anyone from outside adding sugar, pepper, or salt to the matter,” he said with a smile. “The PDP is one family, and we know how to manage our affairs.”
