Former Minister of Special Duties and Peoples Democratic Party National Chairmanship Aspirant, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, on Monday, submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to contest for the position of National Chairman of the party.
PDP has scheduled November 15, 16, 2025 for its Elective National Convention for Ibadan, Oyo State.
Turaki, who has been adopted as consensus candidate for the position by majority of stakeholders of the party, submitted his forms to the National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC)’s Secretariat, Legacy House, Shehu Shagari Way, Maitama, Abuja, on Monday.

He was accompanied to the Legacy House by friends and political associates.
However, earlier, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sule Lamido, who is also seeking to contest for the position, stormed the PDP headquarters in Abuja to purchase the form but no party official attended to him.
Lamido, who was angered by the development, had threatened in a chat with journalists that he may head to court if he is unable to purchase the forms.
Meanwhile, the National Convention Organising Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has put on hold the screening of aspirants for the 2025 Elective National Convention, earlier scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2025 due to unforeseen circumstances.
“A new date will be communicated once fixed. The NCOC regrets any inconveniences caused by the postponement.
All Aspirants and members of our Party should note the foregoing and be guided accordingly.
The NCOC remains committed to delivering a credible, hitch-free 2025 Elective National Convention on Saturday, 15th to Sunday 16th November, 2025 in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital,” a statement issued on Monday and signed by the Governor of Adamawa State and Chairman of Committee, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, reads.
