Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has admitted that Erling Haaland frustrates him despite his prolific goal-scoring record for Manchester City.
Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, Rooney praised the Norwegian striker’s movement in the box but challenged him to be more dominant physically.
“I like watching Haaland, but he also frustrates me a bit,” Rooney said.
“If you watch his movement in the 6-yard box, it’s incredible, but you want a bit more from him.
I want him to be more commanding—look at the size of him. He’s like a beast, I want him to go and bully centre-backs.”
Earlier this year, Rooney also urged Haaland to adopt a more selfish approach by taking penalties, similar to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, to further boost his goal tally and influence on matches.
