Grammy Award-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has revealed his top three greatest footballers of all time — and the list comes with a surprising twist.
Appearing on GOAT Talk, a YouTube series by Complex where celebrities debate their best and worst picks on different topics, Burna Boy was asked to name his football “GOATs.”
The African Giant hitmaker chose Austin “Jay-Jay” Okocha, Brazil’s Ronaldinho, and current Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.
Notably missing from his list were Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who between them have won an unprecedented 13 Ballon d’Or awards.
Burna Boy’s selection has fueled conversations online, with many suggesting his inclusion of Okocha and Osimhen reflects pride in Nigerian talent.
Okocha, regarded as one of the most skillful midfielders of his generation, played alongside Ronaldinho at Paris Saint-Germain, where the two dazzled fans with their flair. Osimhen, on the other hand, has emerged as one of Africa’s top strikers, making history with Italian side Napoli and leading the Super Eagles attack.
