In a Tuesday 28 October 2025, Anadolu English story, Belgian Defence Minister Theo Francken is quoted as giving Russia a clear warning, saying, that any missile attack on Brussels would elicit an overwhelming response from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
“We will wipe Moscow off the map if Putin fires a missile at Brussels,” Francken reiterated the alliance’s unwavering commitment to collective defense in accordance with Article 5 of the NATO agreement.

In Europe, the prejudice against the American administration is astounding. He actually stated that America would continue to back its NATO allies one. One hundred percent. If Russia and China increase their collaboration, Francken cautioned that the geopolitical environment may get much more complicated.

Nevertheless, he disregarded the possibility of a direct Russian attack on NATO territory.
