BREAKING: Haaland Smashes Champions League Record, Becomes Fastest to 50 Goals

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has become the fastest player in UEFA Champions League history to reach 50 goals.

The Norwegian achieved the milestone on Thursday night after opening the scoring in City’s 2-0 victory over Napoli at the Etihad Stadium.

Haaland, 25, hit his half-century in just 49 appearances, shattering the previous record held by former Manchester United forward Ruud van Nistelrooy, who needed 62 games.

It took Lionel Messi 66 matches to reach the same mark, although the Argentina captain remains the youngest player to score 50 Champions League goals at 24 years and 284 days. Haaland’s strike also pushed Kylian Mbappé down to third on the all-time fastest list.

City’s win was sealed by Jeremy Doku, who netted the second after Napoli were reduced to 10 men.
