
According to Times of Israel, French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed deep sorrow over the October 7, 2023 attacks in Israel, calling the events “unspeakable horror” as the second anniversary of the tragedy approaches. The attacks, orchestrated by Hamas, claimed thousands of lives and left dozens of people in captivity.
In a message shared on social media, Macron reaffirmed France’s unwavering support for the victims and their families. He also highlighted the ongoing concern for the 48 hostages still held in Gaza, emphasising the urgent need for their release.
“October 7. Two years after the unspeakable horror of the Hamas terrorism, the pain remains raw. We do not forget,” Macron wrote, paying tribute to the 51 French citizens who lost their lives in the attacks.

The French president stressed that Paris, working in coordination with international partners, is committed to securing the safe return of those still held and restoring stability to the region. “We work tirelessly for their return. I reiterate France’s call: the hostages must be freed, and the ceasefire must take place without delay,” he stated.
Macron also extended his sympathy to families grieving their losses and to those anxiously awaiting news of loved ones. He urged the world to remember the attack as a stark warning about the dangers of hatred and extremism.
Concluding his message, Macron called for global solidarity against antisemitism and for collective efforts toward lasting peace. “Such an abomination must never happen again. Let us unite all our forces to fight antisemitism everywhere and to build peace,” he said.
