Residents of Narok County have been left in shock after a man allegedly poisoned his two young daughters before taking his own life in a heartbreaking incident that has left the community mourning.
The sad event happened on Tuesday night in a quiet village near Narok town. According to reports from neighbours, the man was last seen spending the evening with his two teenage daughters inside their home. Nothing appeared unusual until the following morning when neighbours noticed the house was unusually quiet and the door remained locked from inside.
After repeated knocks went unanswered, concerned residents broke into the house, only to find the lifeless bodies of the two girls lying on their beds. The man’s body was later discovered in another room, with a container suspected to have held poison placed beside him.

Local authorities and police officers who arrived at the scene confirmed the tragic discovery and immediately cordoned off the area for investigations. The bodies were later taken to the Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
Preliminary reports suggest that the man might have poisoned his daughters before ingesting the same substance. Although the motive behind the act remains unclear, neighbours claimed that the man had recently been facing family problems and appeared deeply disturbed in the days leading to the incident.
One of the villagers described him as a quiet person who loved his children but had lately withdrawn from social interactions. “We are still in disbelief. He was a calm man, and no one ever thought he could do something like this,” said a neighbour.
Police officers have launched investigations to determine the exact cause of the incident and whether the man left any message explaining his actions.
