BREAKING: Panic as Armed Thugs Beat Police Officer Outside Station and Escape With His Loaded Gun

Authorities in Nakuru County have launched a major manhunt for suspects who attacked and robbed a police officer of his AK-47 rifle loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition in the Menengai area.

According to reports, the officer, who is attached to the Ngata Police Post, was discovered lying outside the police post compound with a head injury. His colleagues said he appeared disoriented and could not clearly explain how the incident occurred.

Preliminary investigations indicate that unknown assailants ambushed the officer during the night, assaulted him, and made away with his firearm. The circumstances under which the weapon was stolen remain unclear, prompting security teams to pursue multiple leads.

Police have since launched an intensive search operation to recover the missing rifle, fearing it could be used in criminal activities. Officers drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and other security units have been deployed across Nakuru and neighboring areas to track down the attackers.

The injured officer was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is receiving treatment and is expected to assist investigators once he stabilizes.

Authorities have also appealed to residents to report any suspicious individuals or activities that may help in locating the stolen weapon.

The incident has raised fresh concerns about the safety of police officers on duty and the growing threat of armed attacks targeting security personnel in various parts of the country.
