BREAKING: Sowore Dismisses DSS’ Alleged Plan to Intimidate Abuja Market Leaders over Proposed Protest

Nigerian Human Rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has talked down alleged plot by the Department of State Security (DSS) to intimidate and harass Abuja market leaders over planned protest for the release for detained Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

Sowore, who had anchored the movement for the release of Kanu over his deteriorating health, disclosed receiving reports of the DSS’ planned action against the market leaders.

The 2023 African Action Congress (AAC) Presidential candidate, in a statement issued on his X handle on Tuesday, disclosed that they have been moblising people in the market ahead of the October protest.

Sowore allayed concern over the DSS intimidation and harrassment plot, urging the market not to be swayed by what he labelled desperation by the security outfit.

He affirmed that nothing could stop the planned action towards the demand for Kanu’s release.

“We have received reports that @OfficialDSSNG in a state of desperation, is attempting to intimidate and harass market leaders in Abuja, where we have been mobilizing since yesterday, in preparation for the planned action on Monday, October 20, to Free Nnamdi Kanu Now.

“We assure Nigerian citizens, who are working tirelessly, that they should not be swayed by the DSS desperation, and they should rest assured that nothing can stop the planned action and that nothing will happen to anyone.” Sowore wrote.
