The Secretariat of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ekiti State has been set ablaze by suspected hoodlums.
In a video posted on the ADC’s official Facebook page on Tuesday, the party confirmed that the incident occurred overnight.
The assailants reportedly destroyed the building and thousands of plastic chairs in the premises.
The party said the attack was carried out by those that were threatened by the rising momentum and formidable organisational structure that the Ekiti ADC is building.
“This cowardly act is most unfortunate, yet it will only fortify our determination and unity. The formidable Ekiti State ADC has come to stay,” the party said.

“Our spirit remains unbroken; our vision, unstoppable,” the statement added.
The attack coincided with the party’s Reconfiguration and Affirmation Ceremony for its executives at the ward, local government, senatorial, and state levels.
The police authorities in Ekiti have not yet issued an official statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
