Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will kick off their 2025 WAFU B U-17 Championship campaign on Wednesday (today) with a Group B clash against Benin Republic at the Stade du Lycee Scientifique, Yamoussoukro.
The encounter is the second match in the three-team group after Burkina Faso’s Baby Stallions edged Benin 1-0 in Sunday’s opener.
Coached by Manu Garba, the Golden Eaglets enter the tournament as strong favourites, boasting an illustrious record as five-time FIFA U-17 world champions and three-time runners-up, as well as two-time African champions.
Nigeria, who finished third at the last edition of the biennial competition, will be looking to begin their title quest on a winning note.
