Kogi to immortalise varsity students killed by kidnappers

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, on Wednesday, promised to immortalise the two students of the Confluence State University, Osara, James Anajuwe and Caleb Musa, who were killed by Kidnappers in May. The governor also reassured students and management of the school of improved security on the university campus. The governor’s Special Adviser, Ismail lsah, in a statement on Wednesday, said Ododo hosted the rescued varsity students as part of the move to restore confidence and demonstrate the commitment of his administration to the safety and security of students and educational institutions in the state. The governor promised to complete the perimeter fencing of the university within 16 weeks and ensure full security surveillance of the campus with the capacity for round-the-clock emergency response by security agencies.

It quoted the Commissioner for Education, Wemi Jones, as commending the governor for the decisive steps taken to rescue 29 of the 31 abducted students. The Vice Chancellor of CUSTECH, Prof. Abdulrahman Salawu, also expressed appreciation to the governor for the fatherly role he played after their abduction and subsequent rescue.
