The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has celebrated Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie after she finished fourth in the 2025 Ballon d’Or women’s Goalkeeper of the Year category.
Nnadozie, who plays for Brighton, made history as the first Nigerian to be nominated for the prestigious award.
The top prize went to Chelsea and England’s Hannah Hampton.
In a statement on Tuesday, NFF General Secretary Dr Mohammed Sanusi praised the 23-year-old for her achievement and expressed confidence in her future success.
“It is a commendable feat given the calibre of goalkeepers she was up against. We believe in her capacity to win this trophy very soon,” the NFF said.
Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu also earned recognition, finishing fourth in the Women’s Coach of the Year category, which was won by England’s Sarina Wiegman.
