According to his statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out what they said three hours after they reported that he was flown abroad for medical attention.

However, the manner in which the illness of the minister was reported left many unimpressed and appalled, especially Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle on Monday October 13th 2025, he slammed Sahara Media for spreading misinformation about the minister.
According to his statements which had sparked massive debate, he pointed out that three hours after they reported that he was flown abroad to receive medical attention, they turned around and said he was in his house recuperating.
He further accused them of reporting a case without doing due diligence, and act which he described as unprofessional. The statements from the special adviser has however, sparked wider conversations.
